The dance, the game, the pep rally, the team apparel, the build up, the hype, the king and the queen; all elements that make homecoming what it truly is.
Northwood homecoming is a tradition that has been going on for almost as long as the school has been around. Although Northwood has not held homecoming dances in recent years, the game and pep rally have always been points of excitement and coming together for the school. Homecoming is a time where students and Northwood supporters can display their pride in the school.
The Chargers won the homecoming football game against J.F. Webb 34-13. Students came out to the Nut House and displayed their pride for their team through chants and the display of school colors.
“[The game] was very exhilarating, and it was a great game,” sophomore Hayden Rapsky said. “I think the football team did well, and our school was very hype during the game.”
During halftime, senior Nadeem Sbaiti was crowned homecoming king and senior Claire Dufour was named homecoming queen. All the nominees walked the field with their escort of choice, and their extracurricular activities and significant achievements were read off. The Nut House released confetti and yelled out for the crowned students. Following the game, a homecoming dance was hosted by the cheerleaders and the dance team.
