Ready for another night of terror at Northwood? The Trail of Terror will return to Northwood’s cross country trail Oct. 22 due to the success of last year’s trail.
“Last year about 330 people showed up,” said senior class president Joe Friedman. “I’m very satisfied [with that number] but I think we can very easily double it.”
Posters for the interest meeting in early September called for actors for this year’s Trail of Terror. Other opportunities in the Trail of Terror were offered such as non-actors, set up and guides.
“I get together a huge group of actors who are excited to take on the roles,” Friedman said. “I usually use the drama department and give roles to people who have some acting experience.”
Roles as various ghouls, goblins and ghosts were mentioned but the actors don’t always come from the drama department. Many of the students in the interest meeting were just regular kids coming from every corner at Northwood.
About 30 Northwood students packed into advisor Jacqueline Sculli’s room Sept. 8 for the interest meeting. Many of those were first time Trail actors.
“I’m excited to be here because it’s my first year doing the Trail,” said sophomore Abby Goyea, a first time trail actor. “I want to make someone pee their pants!”
This year the Trail of Terror will be bigger and better according to Sculli.
“We have more support this year which is nice because it will help with promoting the event,” Sculli said. “Hopefully this year with the new changes we’ll have a better turnout because of word of mouth and how successful it was last year.”
Actors and non-actors alike hope to scare the students on one of the upcoming nights to Halloween.
“I think everyone should go,” Goyea said. “Halloween is spooky and I hope everyone will have a good time acting or just walking through.”
