My Sister’s Keeper (MSK) and My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) are defined as “clubs that address persistent opportunity gaps faced by young men and women of color and ensure that all young people can reach their full potential,” according to the organization’s website. The two clubs have been uniting Northwood’s Black student population for more than 5 years through meetings that happen on Fridays during Plus 1 and activities to promote connection.
New ‘Flawless Boutique’ Provides Free Prom Apparel to Chatham County Students
The Flawless Boutique, a brand new resource available to students, is being brought to Northwood by school social worker Ashley McNeil and school counselor Telisa Hunter. The boutique is meant to provide prom attire and accessories to students throughout Chatham County who may not have the financial means to splurge on a new dress or suit.

Swim Team Finds Success at Regional and State Competitions
Northwood’s swim team traveled to Greensboro to compete against 19 other teams at the 3A Central North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) Regional Swim Championships on Friday, Feb. 2. The women’s team placed second overall and the men’s placed tenth overall in the competition.
