Carolina Cravings has been fulfilling everyone’s cravings for more than eight years and serving the community by adding a sweeter smell to the air. Starting at 6 a.m., the ovens are on and running. This is a bakery that carries a variety of traditional Hispanic and Southern treats.
According to Yeraldyn Martinez, Carolina Cravings is “creating a multi-cultural/bilingual bakery in downtown Pittsboro.” The Mexican sweet bread, conchas, is the best-selling treat, along with Truffles and cake balls during Christmas time. Muffins, scones, pie bars, and coffee are the best sellers in the warmer seasons.
“We try to get everything local when it’s in season, but we also get eggs when they are not short and coffee,” said Martinez.
Carolina Cravings also offers Gluten-free and dairy-free products. When certain fruits are in season, like strawberries and peaches, Carolina Cravings will produce and sell their local ingredients from Chatham Oak farms or Howard’s farm.
Carolina Cravings pays close attention to customer feedback and uses it to grow. Martines said a customer who leaves feedback about the menu can help grow the menu or determine prices. Carolina Cravings is active on social media, posting consistently and keeping up with what they have baked or restocked. Customers can visit the shop in downtown Pittsboro or find them online at www.carolina-cravings.com.
