During the pandemic, it has served as a way for people to have a little fun and brighten up their days with some color. Another top trend that occurred during quarantine was matching sweatsuits. Sweatpants, hoodies and loose tees may have been around previously, but the appeal for matching sweatwear suitable for any occasion became more desirable. Why? Because no one buys fancy, restricting clothing just to sit around at home; sweats are a staple for when you want effortless comfort that looks just as good as it feels.
‘90s Nostalgia
Did 2020 travel back three decades in the past? It’s hard to tell, as another one of this year’s biggest trends was the concept of 90s throwback. Whether it was because adults found comfort in their youth or teens saw newfound flair in the eccentric accessories, the past is being re-lived. Some popular items of this trend include polo collar sweaters, wide leg jeans, claw hair clips, combat boots, scrunchies, flannel, puffer coats, and more.

Forget about this summer trend? This piece technically isn’t a shirt at all, but an improvisation for when it gets hot and you want to stay cool yet fashionable. It simply consists of a printed silk square folded in half and fastened in the back. Displayed by influencers all over social media, this statement trend quickly grew, and it’s a thrifted look almost anyone can create. Face Masks
Last but not least, it wouldn’t be right not to mention the trend of face masks while living in the time of coronavirus. While wearing masks have become a mandated order in many states, people began making masks more stylish. After all, they’re pretty much a normal piece of our outfits now. From fashion designers to at-home creators, face masks have been reimagined many times, now existing in all varieties of colors, prints and designs.
